Art AND DESIGN
We use the Primary National Curriculum in England for our Art and Design curriculum.
Children have the opportunity to explore many mediums including mastering drawing, painting, sculpture, printing and collage across each year group. Each year we have a focused Arts Week working with a local artist. The children use critiques to improve their skills and we finish with an Art Exhibition for parents. The videos below show you the high quality artwork we produce at Gloucester Road.

Our Vision
Our vision is to develop a love of creativity through offering opportunities to inspire pupils’ curiosity about art and design within the world around them. They will be able to see themselves as artists in both a global and a local community through the study of past and present local, national and international artists.
We follow a three year ‘rolling programme’ where children will experience drawing and painting every year, in addition to collage/printing/textiles/digital media/sculpture on a three-year cycle. Children in EYFS follow the ‘expressive arts and design’ area of learning in the EYFS framework.
